The ability to function at work, school or at play depends on your overall wellness. It is very easy to assume factors like others, the time, the kind of job you work, the type of friends you have are the reason for your fatigue and unhappiness. However though all those things are external factors that can influence your situation, the real culprit is the internal factors. Are you getting enough sleep ? Are you eating enough fruits and veggies? Are you getting enough physical activity? Are you spending time to meditate and reflect on your life to cause growth? You don’t need to be an athlete or physical person for all those things to matter. Every individual needs 30 to 60 minutes of exercise daily to function well. Wellness is important because without your body working cooperatively together to allow you to excel at your daily life and activities, its easy to fall in a rut, to lack lustre and joy for life, to remain stagnant in the same place without any desire for growth. Try for one week to add a healthy lifestyle habit to your daily routine. it can be drinking 8 to 12 glasses of water, sleeping 7 to 8 hours, doing something active for 30 minutes daily, adding an extra serving of fruit and veggie to your diet or just meditating for 10 minutes daily. Write down how you are feeling at the beginning of the week and also at the end and compare your notes. Wellness is a driving force that will enhance our lives individually and therefore collectively if we take it seriously. I encourage you to commit to making small changes to your life daily to improve your state of being.
